Ocean Reveries

Cloud splattered sky, summer heat, Blues and whites, confused disarray, Scorching sun shines from high above Withering flowers, unsatisfied thirst Blooms lie strewn upon the ground.

Dreamlike images enter my mind Of ocean waves rolling onto sand Colored shells, scattered starfish, Mesmerized by surf breaking ashore Elaborate sand castles washed away.

Returning to present stark realities Feeling heat rising upon my skin Grateful to feel a gentle breeze, Treading amongst tall ancient trees Shading me in my walking reveries.

Sun overwhelms cloud splattered sky Dazzling brightness high overhead, Returning to pleasant ocean reveries Wanting to walk upon sandy shores.
