Obstacles on My Path
Paper Poetry Prompt #6

Each day I step on the path, My foot touches the ground, and I am off, To other lands of delight and promise, Through my dreams and prayers.
Some days the path is smooth, Walking is easy, and my feet glide along, To my daily practice, my sacred journey, Across time and space.
Other days the path is jagged, The route winds and turns, Obstacles of stones and rivers in my way, On this road paved with promise.
No matter if the path is straight or crooked, The travel leads to dreams, Obstacles are the required lessons, In the form of blisters on my feet.
These impediments to my progress, Create the strength I require, To continue on my travels, Through this dream called life.
I believe that life is a path that we travel on each and every day. We choose to take a step towards destiny when we elect to be creative. Each day I step out on the route to my dreams by writing, creating, responding, and engaging. Some days creativity flows, and some days it takes longer to write. The key is to step out on the open road every single day, no matter what. Those obstacles are my teachers, showing me the way.
