“I will exalt you, my God the King; I will praise your name forever and ever. Every day I will praise you and extol your name forever and ever. Great is the LORD and most worthy of praise; his greatness no one can fathom.”

— Psalm 145:1–3

Before you decided to click away, hear me out. This isn’t obedience to a powerful dictator, this is obedience which is inspired by our relationship with God. When we love our parents, or spouse, or children, we demonstrate some level of obedience to them.

If they ask us to do something, we obey. And it shows love to them. The same is true about God. However, when we obey God in our actions of praise it does something more. It brings spiritual breakthrough. It releases the right emotions and right thinking.

When we praise God, even in our difficulty, we are offering a sacrifice which God loves.

We are saying that he is good, no matter how hard things get in the present world. And when we praise God, he enters into our situation or difficulty and we feel his presence in those moments.

This unlocks his presence to us, whether we feel like praising him or not.

When have you praised God, even if you didn’t want to at the moment? Share in the responses below.
