Noticing The Invitations To Slow Down

Take notice of those genuine invitations

As I started peeling the ginger with the zig-zag cut end of the knife there was a genuine invitation, so irresistible, to slow down and peel them gently without hurry; reminding me that to miss it is to miss an opportunity to slow down, and to see that the ginger or the knife was in no hurry: beginning ginger tea preparation.

As I started to pour the steaming ginger tea onto my rather huge white ceramic cup there was an invitation to slow down and listen to the continuous sound of pouring tea and bubble designs being created without any demand to fasten the process.

As I dropped the crushed jaggery slices on to the tea and started to dilute them with a steel spoon there was a genuine invitation to slow down and mix them while listening to the sound of the spoon touching the walls of the ceramic white cup.

As I picked the cup to drink the ginger tea there was a genuine invitation to hold the cup with my two hands and feel its weight as I sipped the hot tea onto my mouth.
