Nothing Lasts Forever

Six Word Photo Story: Freestyle

Many miles later, the Crocs died.

I am a fan of Crocs. They are comfortable and stylish. You can wear them anywhere.

But you can’t wear them forever. Despite their reputation for durability, Crocs eventually wear out. And if your gait isn’t perfect, the sad day when it is time to say goodbye to a pair of crocs can come sooner rather than later.

Unfortunately, I am hard on shoes. A close look at the retired Crocs in the picture above is proof. I also am cheap. I am reluctant to retire shoes prematurely. Usually, shoes need a “catastrophic failure” for me to move on to a new pair of everyday shoes.

Earlier today, I took a final walk in this pair of Crocs. Then I photographed them. After I publish this article, I will thank the Crocs for their service and place them in the garbage.
