You can’t keep a good actor down. On the press trail talking up Killers of the Flower Moon, his 10th film with Martin Scorsese, two time Academy Award winning actor Robert De Niro announced he will both produce and direct a new movie whose main character is based largely on the life of former President Trump — both his business and political careers. Asked if he will also star in the movie, De Niro said he has no plans to do so at present, and they have approached a number of known Trump impersonators, notifying them of the project.

Making the announcement, De Niro stressed that the project will be purely fictional, but said, with a wink — “You’ll know exactly who the main character represents, believe me.”

As The Guardian has recently reported, De Niro is no fan of Trump’s. He has called him a pig, a bullsh*t artist, and said he’d like to see Trump hit with a bag of sh*t.

And more recently, this —

De Niro said he is anxious and hopeful for his present movie, which opens on Oct. 20. But he is truly excited for his new project to get rolling so it can be out before the 2024 presidential election.

“But if it’s not finished by then, don’t worry. I’ll make sure you’ll be able to see promo clips and dailies as we go along — as the campaign is going along — you can bet your sweet ass on that.”

De Niro — “Trump is such a turkey — I can’t understand why he isn’t in jail right now.” Hopefully, a growing sentiment —
