Notable Quotables: Trump on the Oscars
And Maureen Dowd’s (NYT) Delightfully Snarky Response
Said Trump about Academy Award winner Best Picture Parasite: “And the winner is a movie from South Korea. What the hell was that all about? We got enough problems with South Korea with trade. On top of it, they give them the best movie of the year?”

And Maureen Dowd’s response: “It’s funny that Donald Trump doesn’t like a movie about con artists who invade an elegant house and wreak chaos.
He should empathize with parasites.”

And speaking of Trump and movies . . . he has frequently cited Mutiny on the Bounty as one of his favorites. As Gail Collins of the New York Times commented, “Mutiny is the story of sailors who rise up against a cruel, greedy and possibly crazy Captain Bligh, setting him adrift on a rowboat. A little weird that our commander in chief would be so enraptured. But so very Trumpian that he appeared to have no clue Bligh was the villain.”
Yup.
