Why does everyone keep calling COVID 19 our ‘new normal’?
What is happening in our world now is not new, neither is it normal. Our world has experienced pandemics before, yes it cost lives, that is expectable if a vaccine isn’t available. Pandemics and its components stretch the scientific minds. It improves its ability, knowledge, and creativity that aids in cures and medications.
Everything in life comes with a price, and humans know that from history and their experience of pandemics and other life experiences. The death of several thousand people in a war is normal, but in a pandemic, I don’t see anything normal because there are simple preventive measures available to us. In war, we know who our enemies are, we can see and hear them coming. In this crisis, we can’t see or hear the enemy.
That is not normal. If you can’t see who you are fighting then losing is your only option. Pandemics, epidemics, viruses, and diseases are all part of human existence, and they force us to stay healthy, live better and their cures save lives. We are technologically, medically, and scientifically more advanced today than we were from the last pandemic.
The major problem we have is humanity’s lack of respect for obeying or adhering to the preventive measures that will stop the possibility of spreading this virus. By disobeying the rules we aren’t only putting our lives at risk, we are spreading this virus to our family and all whom we come in contact with. If your life depends on obeying a simple rule, will you live?
