Not much for TV

but…

Art is everywhere 1 © Brooklyn Muse

Watching television is not really my thing. I do watch the news and late nite comedy once in a while. I did scroll through Netflix, while my kids were visiting and watched Lansky. A true mobster story. The older gentleman tells his life story the way he sees it — not through the eyes of others. I thought his perspective- although very, very disturbing, was fascinating.

I wrote a piece a bit ago about how my life is drawn to perspective, critical thinking, and the way people act/ interact/live/love. I wrote that is why I teach. Probably the reason why I fucked up a few times with relationships- the people were fine, I just am more like an impressionistic painting- muted and evolving. Anyway, the following line stayed with me after the movie and I wanted to share it. I found it interesting and disturbing all at the same time.

Lansky states, “We measure ourselves through the eyes of the ones we love.”

Pause, breathe- read it again. Ponder it.

“We measure ourselves through the eyes of the ones we love.”

As I stated previously, interesting and disturbing at the same time right?

I wish you peace, love, and all that hippie shit. ( It is good to have an edge)

If you choose to you may — Buy me a coffee?
