Not Judging
a poem
Hey, don’t judge me
You don’t know my life
You haven’t walked a yard in my Birkenstocks
Never mind a mile
Judge me not
For things privilege and ignorance
Protected you from your entire life
No, I shan’t be judged
By ‘your criteria’
My condition doesn’t ‘fit your criteria’?
Your judgement doesn’t fit mine
Please don’t Other me
I’m Human too
Dedicated to the physiotherapy dept at the National Hospital of Neurology and Neurosurgery who determined that my condition ‘doesn’t fit’ their department’s assessment criteria – without assessing me.
