YOUR LIFE, YOUR PREFERENCES
Not Everyone is a Tourist, Follow Your Own Interests
What They Don’t Tell About Tourist Places
You are unique. Everyone is unique. But as a human being, we easily develop a sheep/flock mentality.
Everyone wants to visit Paris, The Alps in Switzerland, Niagara Falls, the Great Barrier Reef, and Tokyo to name a few popular destinations. With the advancement in social media applications, there is a surge in the tourism industry. FOMO has hit everyone hard.
People forget that reaching the tourist spots and taking photos is a minimal part of the fun. The real joy is in the journey and experiences you get while trying to reach those spots.
So, if your aim is solely to get photos for your social media accounts, learning Photoshop could be a better and cheaper option than visiting popular destinations.

Travel is not just about reaching the destination
I love to travel because I like the idea of planning, packing, going to a new place, meeting new people, experiencing something new, and visiting tourist places to review why it is so popular.
During travel, things can go against what you have planned. Flights can get canceled, accommodations may fall through, unexpected delays can throw off your itinerary, or weather conditions can disrupt your outdoor activities. You need to be accepting and prepared for any such exceptions.
Who is accompanying you makes a big difference
Going to Paris with just your partner vs. visiting it with your partner and kids vs. visiting with your partner, kids, and parents will give you totally different experiences.
If my aging parents are accompanying me, I would rather choose a place where getting around is easier, where they can get the food as per their preferences, and where there are facilities that cater to their comfort.
Personal priorities and preferences
Travel may not be your cup of tea and that’s absolutely fine. Don’t feel pressured to go along with the crowd.
Do what excites you more instead of visiting exotic locations, just because others are talking about it.

It’s essential to recognize that travel, while a wonderful and enriching experience for many, may not align with your own circumstances, interests, or preferences. There is no universal formula for a fulfilling life, and there is no prescribed checklist of must-visit destinations. Embrace the journey that suits you best, for it is your unique path that only you should define.
