Nonsense-Writing Makes You a Better and A Different Writer

Have you ever written nonsense? No? Do it now.

I wrote a nonsense poem recently, and it just came from my thumb, without even thinking about it and I didn't think about fitting the sentences together. I didn't even re-read my stuff. Because it is nonsense, and it didn’t make any sense at all and there is no clue behind the poem.

I loved doing this. It was something other than just writing about the experiences I had in my life.

With nonsense-writing, you will create new ideas to write about, as well as going out of your comfort zone.

Out of my comfort zone

With this nonsense poem, I went out of my comfort zone. Being out of your comfort zone is good for you. You experience a new challenge with yourself and you develop new skills. Or you just write about something else you never wrote about. You see where that leads to. You understand that part of writing too now.

With going out of your comfort zone, your writing will lead to something else spectacular.

When I wrote this poem I didn't know I actually could do it, I just wrote this poem from my thumb without knowing what the outcome was. With this poem, I just went out of my comfort zone to know what I could do with it.

I never had done this before. First of all, I thought I couldn’t do it.

But once you try, you’ll know the answer.

Better writer

Writing nonsense makes you a better writer. I love writing nonsense because your ideas will flow into your mind and onto your screen faster than you will think.

When I write nonsense, you will think — after you wrote your nonsense — what you will think of your piece. Like I wrote this one: why you should write nonsense articles. I thought of it after I wrote my nonsense poetry.

Then something brilliantly comes out of it.

Most of the time, it will be your fantasy, but in those fantasies, there will be some truth too.

Different writer

Somehow, it made me also a different writer. I look different to what and how I write. Think about it. You will come with different topics to write about, topics you never thought you will write about, or even thought about it to write about. Or you just come up with a different angle on a piece you’re writing.

When you write nonsense, the outcome will make sense somehow. Those sentences came out of your brain. It is the way you will write.

In the future, you’ll be a different writer.

I’ll love to read your nonsense.
