2022 WRITING PROMPT JOURNEY
Non-Fiction Writing Prompts — Week Two
Prompts for January 8th to 14th
We are onto Week Two of our Writing Journey! I’ve loved hearing your feedback and reading your prompt responses so far, and can’t wait to see how you interpret the three new Non-Fiction Prompts this week.
While I usually like to keep the prompts pretty open-ended (so you can interpret them however you like), I’m going to try adding in some further hints and directions for where you might take the prompts this week. Let me know if this is helpful, or if you prefer the prompts be left more vague in future weeks’ prompts.
The simple rules for this Journey:
1. Pick a prompt (or two or three!) and get writing.
2. Post anywhere, and share a link in your post back to this Prompt post.
3. Share a link to your prompted writing in the comments.
4. Tag your post with “Writing Prompt Journey”.
Prompt 1
This Month in My City
Is there a special event happening this month that’s unique to your city?
Is there someone well-known (or who should be well-known) in your city who has an exhibition this month or whose birthday is this month?
Has something big happened politically in your city (State, Province, etc) this month?
Prompt 2
Finding a New Normal
What advice has helped get you through tough experiences?
How have specific everyday events changed for the better (or the worse) in this new world we find ourselves in?
What routines have helped you find balance after a big life change?
Prompt 3
Fitness Journeys — The Good, The Bad, and The Unforeseen
Who inspires you to get up and move every day?
What is the best tip you’ve heard that helped start/continue your fitness journey?
What is the most unexpected discovery or realization you’ve come to in your life through fitness?
Remember to check out the Poetry and Fiction Prompts for Week Two for more inspiration. You can also go back to see the previous weeks’ prompts here.
And please don’t forget to put links to your prompted posts in the comments, and link back to this post in your writing so more people can join the journey. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!

Before you go…
If you enjoy my work, why not join Medium as a paying member? This allows you unlimited access to stories (not just 3 free stories per month). Tap this link or the image below. It helps me out since I will receive a small portion of your membership fees, but it won’t cost you any extra (bonus!).
This Writing Prompt Journey is hosted in my publication The Storyteller’s Vault. If you would like to receive weekly links to these Writing Prompts sent to your email, please feel free to sign up and receive newsletter updates.
