2022 WRITING PROMPT JOURNEY
Non-Fiction Writing Prompts — Week Three
Prompts for January 15th to 21st
We are onto Week Three of our Writing Journey! There are three new Non-Fiction Prompts below to get your fingers flying this week.
Please feel free to interpret the prompts however you like! But I have continued adding in some further hints and directions this time, since that seemed to go very well last week.
The simple rules for this Journey:
1. Pick a prompt (or two or three!) and get writing.
2. Post anywhere, and share a link in your post back to this Prompt post.
3. Share a link to your prompted writing in the comments.
4. Tag your post with “Writing Prompt Journey”.
Prompt 1
Writers You Should Be Following
What writers inspire you to continue chasing the dream?
Which Medium writers do you read who you feel deserve more recognition for their quality?
What three Instagram/Twitter writer accounts do you always look forward to a new post from?
Prompt 2
Taking a Social Media-Free Mental Health Day
When did you first realize how disruptive social media was becoming to your life or relationships?
Document a day in your life without social media (or perhaps without your phone entirely). How was the experience?
Download a time tracker app to see how much time you spend on social media apps. What would you have time for every day if those apps were gone?
Prompt 3
The Most Interesting Thing I’ve Heard This Week
Ideas:
- a new scientific discovery
- the story of a local hero
- life hacks that you wish you knew sooner
Remember to check out the Poetry and Fiction Prompts for Week Three for more inspiration. You can also go back to see the previous weeks’ prompts here.
And please don’t forget to put links to your prompted posts in the comments, and link back to this post in your writing so more people can join the journey. I can’t wait to see what you come up with!
Chelsea Marie is a writer by night and graphic designer by day. She is a West-Coast Canadian with a bad case of wanderlust and a dream to travel the world with her severely airplane phobic partner. Why do the easy way when a complicated route makes a much more interesting story? She’s on Instagram @c.the.storyteller.
Before you go…
If you enjoy my work, why not join Medium as a paying member? This allows you unlimited access to stories (not just 3 free stories per month). Tap this link or the image below. It helps me out since I will receive a small portion of your membership fees, but it won’t cost you any extra (bonus!).
This Writing Prompt Journey is hosted in my publication The Storyteller’s Vault. If you would like to receive weekly links to these Writing Prompts sent to your email, please feel free to sign up and receive newsletter updates.
