Abstract

The author of the article emphasizes the significance of personal choice in shaping one's life and the structure of society. The piece reflects on the historical struggle for freedom and self-determination, highlighting the complexity of human societies and the inherent differences among individuals. It suggests that the current political divide need not lead to drastic measures like splitting the country but rather should encourage citizens to exercise their right to choose their state of residence based on their values. The author calls for introspection and acceptance of personal responsibility in addressing societal issues, rather than solely blaming government structures.

Do You Like Having your choice or prefer one size fits all?

Is it your choice?

You like others to make choices for you?

Do you like things your way or one way?

Do you like other people to make decisions for your life?

Or prefer making your own?

Do you want someone else living your life?

Your life is the sum result of all the choices you make, both consciously and unconsciously. If you can control the process of choosing, you can take control of all aspects of your life. You can find the freedom that comes from being in charge of yourself.

Robert Foster Bennett

There’s talk about dividing our country

Why would we need to divide it? It’s already divided into 50 different states.

Wait before we do anything rash!

Choice or no choice, This is the question.

If we take a moment and realize there is no need for such a drastic measure.

Whether it was the genius of the foundering farthers or divine intervention, you realize there is already a provision in the constitution for just this purpose.

What is it? Simply put, it’s state rights.

As outlined in the 10th Amendment of our constitution.

Amendment X

The powers not delegated to the United States by the Constitution, nor prohibited by it to the states, are reserved to the States respectively, or to the people.

With 50 different states, there is already a way to find a home that supports your ideals. We have the right to choose to live in whichever State we feel reflects our values and ideology.

The founding fathers knew and understood that no two people are going to ever agree on everything.

So it was up to the states to choose their local government to govern consistent with their citizen’s ideology.

Looking back in history, we see the reason.

The citizens became aware of the oppression by their ruling class, infringing on their personal freedom and liberty.

It was the result of the government’s power consolidating around one choice.

The choice most time was centered around the whims and ideology of one person.

Be it a king or a dictator.

Either way, there was little to no choice or recourse to follow but live by their rules or suffer the consequences.

The Citizens, are forced to obey the rules and laws for the benefit of one ruler. Forced to surrender their life, liberty, and property in exchange for a small stipend for their labor.

Today the citizens of our country(United States of America) are locked in a conflict over the direction of our governing ideology.

The citizenry is being coerced into taking political sides.

In some circles, there’s talk of splitting up the country into two different governments.

I hope you understand. If you have read any of my other writing you’ll know, I go off on tangents sometimes to further describe and understand a term or concept and its relationship to the context.

Civilization Begins

A civilization is a complex human society, made up of different people, with certain characteristics of cultural and technological development. From this specialization comes a class structure and government, both aspects of a civilization.

https://www.nationalgeographic.org › encyclopedia › civil…

It’s still up to debate as to the start of civilization. This debate is to be saved for another time.

Now we’re some 5,000 years after the earliest idea of a democracy.

A complex human society is an understatement.

Understanding bringing two or more humans together will become complex by nature. True with other animals as well.

Just a fact of nature

In our world there seem, not two of anything are the same.

This appears to be anything, Animal, Plants, or Stone.

Not even identical twins.

The reasons are just as complex. Two factors influence this.

Animals are developed through the influence of nature and nurture, adding further to the complexity.

Adding a third component, time in history, it’s amazing we’re not more screwed up.

These facts are not consistent for any living thing. These are inherent problems any society will have to face.

Democracies Origination

Under Cleisthenes, what is generally held as the first example of a type of democracy in 508–507 BC was established in Athens. Cleisthenes is referred to as “the father of Athenian democracy”.

https://en.wikipedia.org › wiki › Democracy

In the formation of the American government, a choice was made to adopt a form of governance that merged democracy with citizen representatives.

A Government of, by, and for the people.

Throughout the history of civilization, we have hoped to find an answer to this complex problem.

Fighting and revolting to be free of living under servitude and bondage.

Being led by prophets and politicians feeding unrest amongst the people.

The intention of some being good and honorable others being evil and deceitful.

Throughout the history of rulers, kings, and dictators. To this day it’s still not ideal.

The state of humanity today.

Here we are in the year 2022. We’re still can find peace and harmony within our society as well as others.

The United States Of America. Anything but united.

Again struggling with these age-old problems. After all the rulers and all the governments still refuse to accept that we are all individuals with different needs and wants. It’s mostly the wants that get in the way.

Our basic needs are undeniable, Food, Water, and Air.

But our tendency to turn our wants into needs.

Selfish motivation at the root.

Rarely will we admit it!

We humans have this way of justifying our needs into wants an inherent flaw in our DNA.

The need for survival. Its purpose is not a flaw. The fact is without it, we would not have survived this far.

But in society, it becomes fatal.

Why? It’s this. In simple terms. We agree we all need food. But some people need more food than others. And in many cases, there could be good reasons. The size or health of an individual might really need the extra. Which most people would support. Then there are others for reasons of greed or selfishness they think they are entitled to it.

I’ll love to know your thoughts?

Please if you read this far you understand the need for this has to be addressed once and for all. Not just for the good and survival of our society but for all of humanity.

Changing the government or dividing our country is still avoiding reality.

It’s us, We need to come to understand and appreciate the beauty of life and our own shortcomings and flaws.

The change necessary is with us, humans. We have to be told the truth.

To find truth and happiness in this world and your life, we must admit and recognize our responsibility. The simple little part we all play.

It appears humanity is again at a critical point in civilization. With mounting tension from civil unrest, the world is moving closer to war.

Not yet again

5,000 years of this, when will it end, will we ever learn.

It’s always the same story. The leaders of the society would confiscate wealth created by the working class and hoard it for themselves.

All living things need to be free. Not even a bug wants to be held captive.

Some people think it is ideal to live in servitude and bondage.

For those who don’t understand, this is slavery.

There are those for their own reasons don’t want to be free. Some can’t handle the responsibility others I believe are misguided.

I thought we all thought slavery is bad.

I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do. I am free, no matter what rules surround me. If I find them tolerable, I tolerate them; if I find them too obnoxious, I break them. I am free because I know that I alone am morally responsible for everything I do.

Robert A. Heinlein

This article doesn’t even touch the surface. My hope for those reading this will help bridge the widening gap developing between us and all of humanity.

Only we can fix this. We must maintain choices. I believe we could save the union of the United States and still allow people their individual choices.

This is easily accomplished by choosing to live in a state that reflects your beliefs.

The intention of this article is to provoke thought.

To make you cautiously aware of where some of our politics and politicians are leading us astray. Using us for their own selfish purposes.

They try and disguise their intent. Using fear and bribes to lead you to support their cause don’t let them.

The road to hell is full of good intentions.

We can’t allow ourselves to be fooled again.
