No Love That A Man Has Will Only Give Him Pleasure In Return — He Shall Also Suffer Pain Because Of It, Except For Love Of Allah:

Islam came to close the doors that lead to evil and sin, and is keen to block all the means that may lead to corruption of hearts and minds. Love and infatuation between the genders are among the worst of problems.
Love is an emotional state whose reality cannot be described in words. However, the ability to love is inherently present in all human beings. We have been gifted with this attribute since the creation of our souls in Heaven. This deeply rooted quality manifests in us From the instant we are born on earth.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (May Allah have mercy on him) said:
Love is a psychological sickness, and if it grows strong it affects the body, and becomes a physical sickness, either as diseases of the brain, which are said to be diseases caused by waswaas, or diseases of the body such as weakness, emaciation and so on. (Majmoo’ al-Fatawa — 10/129)
Attraction is the initial stage of love — The higher stages of love result in tremendous energy, zeal, determination, going out of control, etc.
All of us experience and are therefore capable of understanding the initial stage of love, namely attraction, but higher stages are experienced only by a Few. However the nature of all human beings is endowed with an unlimited capacity to develop and refine their love.
Ibn al-Qayyim (May Allah have mercy on him) said:
If the cause happens by his choice, he has no excuse For the consequences that are beyond his control, but if the reason is haraam, the drunkard had no excuse. Undoubtedly Following one glance with another and allowing oneself to keep thinking about the person is like drinking intoxicants: he is to be blamed For the cause. (Rawdat al-Muhibbeen — 147)
Love of Allah(swt) can only be attained by knowing Him.
Anas and Abu Hurayrah (May Allah be pleased with both of them) reported that the Prophet (saw) said: "None of you will attain perfect Faith until I am more beloved to him than his child, his parent, and all people." (Sahih:Al-Bukhari)
The Messenger of Allah (saw) informs us in this Hadīth that — the Faith of any Muslim is not complete and he will not attain the type of Faith that will admit him into Paradise without punishment until he gives the love of the Prophet (saw) precedence over the love of his children, parents and all people.
This is because the love of the Messenger of Allah(saw) means the love of Allah, since the Messenger is the one conveying From Allah and the one who guides people to the religion of Allah.
Love of Allah and His Messenger(saw) is not valid except by obeying the commands of Shariah and abandoning its prohibitions.
Shaykh al-Islam Ibn Taymiyah (May Allah have mercy on him) said in Majmoo’ al-Fatawa (10/133):
If he is tested with love but he remains chaste and is patient, then he will be rewarded For Fearing Allah.
It is known From shar’i evidence that if a person remains chaste and avoids haraam things in looking, word and deeds, and he keeps quiet about it and does not speak of it, so that there will be haraam talk about that, whether by complaining to another person or committing evil openly, or pursuing the beloved one in any way — and he is patient in obeying Allah and avoiding sin, despite the pain of love that he Feels in his heart, just as one who is afflicted with a calamity bears the pain of it with patience, then he will be one of those who Fear Allah and are patient —
“Verily, he who Fears Allah with obedience to Him (by abstaining From sins and evil deeds, and by performing righteous good deeds), and is patient, then surely, Allah makes not the reward of the Muhsinoon (good‑doers) to be lost”. (Yusuf 12:90).
So,the point is that — every love of the world causes pain except the love of the Lord, so we should love the people of the world For the sake of Allah(swt). Such a love that leads us away From our Lord, that leads us to disobey to God,will harm us in this Life and in the Hereafter.
May Allah(swt) Grant us such a heart that we love the Blessings of this world For the sake of our Lord.(Ameen).
JazakAllah (May Allah reward you with goodness) For reading.
