No, I Don’t Love Reading.

A confession of an avid reader

I read one book every week. I read every morning. I read physical books, eBooks, and audiobooks.

But I don’t love reading. Sometimes, I even loathe reading.

Then why do I read? Day after day, page after page?

Reading is a need. Like I need to eat or breath, I just need to read. I will make sure I grab the book and read at least for 21-minutes, even on busy days.

To Read Is To Focus

Before I was an avid reader, I was often lost in the chaos and react passively to the events.

Reading helps redirect my focus on my intentions.

I read daily because I need a way to control my consciousness, as suggested by Csikszentmihalyi.

I’m in a love-hate relationship with books, I guess.
