AI: Nightcafé
Nightcafé draws the birds
Experimenting with AI bird images

Moving away from AI text, I’m going to address Dr. Preeti’s prompt on birds, this time using AI.
I’ve found a new image generator called NightCafé that has just an awesome array of tools, a thriving community, and some amazing output creations.
Follow along with me as I explore the possibilities:
As with all of these things, you fire it up, find that you've been allocated a couple of free credits, and just type in a few words on your chosen subject. NightCafé goes a step further than most in that you can generate NSFW images, so if I can work out how to do this I might give myself a fabulous body.
So far I haven’t puzzled out how to do this but judging by the work of others it can be done. Stay tuned.
For the birds
I love looking at birds. Listening to them, watching them fly, admiring their grace and colours. Parrots are just gorgeous.
So for my first attempts, I went with parrots.

Well, okay. Kind of a weird bicycle, and one bird lined up for the eye ration a second time but it has a charm to it, yeah?
I did better with the bird on the binos prompt, choosing a totally different style. Kind of steampunky.

Each prompt gives me four images, each using a different seed. Birdseed, in this case.

I had other attempts.

As you can see, I need to work on my skills a little more but there is definitely promise.
The big attraction of AI for content writing
There are three big pluses:
- The image can be crafted precisely to your content. You can even upload a seed image — your smiling face, for example — and make it something new. Turn it into a watercolour.
- The image is unique. Nobody else will have downloaded and used it before. Some popular images from Unsplash get used over and over.
- The image is free. At least if you don’t go overboard. Most of these sites give you a certain daily allowance.
And, for this topic, I don’t have to wrangle exotic birds for a photoshoot.

Here’s the same thing with a watercolour effect:

Or something similar using the same prompts but a different seed:

4. It’s fun. I had a ball playing around with all this cool stuff!
So, while AI text is kind of bland and generic, AI images can be the exact opposite. Give these things a go, see how you go, share your results!

Robert G. Longpré, veteran author, talks about NaNoWriMo. This will be their tenth year churning out fifty thousand words in a month. I’m seriously contemplating having a go this time around. Then again, an alternative abbreviation is NoNoNoNo!
✏️Pencil + Ashes (Ash) equates their soul with their body and strengthens the bond of love between them.
