A selection of articles to brighten up your new year

Looking for some articles to start off your new year? Look no further; I will be presenting some I enjoyed from this week that I think will kickstart your 2022 with a smile!
Marilyn Flower talks of a not-so-typical Advent devotional, Night Divisions. I really liked her review of it, and since she mentioned that she rereads it every year, you know it's good.
But I feel held and embraced when my eyes and heart gaze at her pages, her poetry, and her paper tapestries. So I keep coming back.
A wonderful, touching story by Yan Huang. She shares her journey of cancer, her hardships, and so much more. I enjoyed this article a lot, and I think it should be shared and appreciated.
I guessed, words have so much power we don’t realize. That was the first time I truly believe in the power of the words we speak, the thoughts we hold, and the stories we tell ourselves.
Are you a Ravenclaw? A Slytherin? A Hufflepuff? A Harry Potter fan? Well, here’s a good read for you! Runda Alamour talks of Harry Potter and how much it is in her life, how she gets comfort from it. If you are a fan, I’m sure you can relate to her!
Broadly speaking, the book and film series impacted the great arc of my life. Harry Potter is more than the sum parts of its storyline. In it, I found something much more critical than an escape to a magical world — an early love of reading, writing, and building community.
Here’s a non-book related one I enjoyed as well! J Oliver Dempsey writes of his couch and besides this witty article, he is also a talented poet!
