New Writers Growth Ideas: Submission Guidelines 2023
Knowing what to submit for our new publication

HHello and welcome, new or seasoned writers, authors, and bloggers! We thank you for joining the New Writers Growth Ideas publication and sharing with us your unique, colorful, and rewarding stories.
New Writers Growth Ideas was established in August 2023, and it exploded with a vast amount of new writers in September. Our founder posted guidelines for our writers in a post inviting writers to join the publication. We want to be diverse and inclusive; however, this publication is new, and we are looking for more active volunteer editors to help with the overwhelming workload of daily submissions.
To address this, I am clarifying the original guidelines to provide a solution for handling the workload. Currently, there is only 1 active editor.
What topics do we cover?
The following is a list of topics covered in New Writers Growth Ideas:
- Writing (Writers on writing)
- writing tips
- Blogging
- blogging tips
- productivity
- growth mindset
- Money (how to make money online as a writer or other ways, posting your monthly Medium stats or income as encouragement)
- Self-improvement
- mental health
- about me
- poetry
- personal experience (as related to a writer’s life or journey)
"[Our] aim is to help other writers, especially for those who’ve no idea how to actually write for a publication”. — Asad Educate
Our goal is for our publication to be one of the top publications that help writers discover their voice, use that voice to educate, move, or inform others, and generate an income using their voice.
What gets published?
As of today, September 27, 2023, we will be strictly publishing only original drafts (no published submissions for now) and one draft submission from writers per day (or per 24 hours).
We will focus on engaging headlines and subheadlines, unique images, and intriguing or informative stories. In other words, ‘quality over quantity‘, which is Medium’s new focus as well. These guidelines are very important, and we cannot compromise on them.
Drafts must include at least one photo. These photos must be copyright-free and have a clear caption with the image source. I have encountered drafts with photos that have blank captions. If the photo belongs to you or was created by you, please add the text “Photo by Author”.
Moving forward, we accept photos only from free stock sites like unsplash.com, pixabay.com, and pexels.com. This protects you and the platform from being liable for copyrighted photos. So its very important to follow this instruction.
What doesn’t get published?
There are about 3 or 4 writers currently submitting more than one draft or published article per day. Any additional submissions from the same author within a 24-hour period will be removed from our draft list. They can be re-submitted after 24 hours.
“Upon analyzing the statistics, we observed that writers who posted too many stories resulted in lower views, reading times, and income.
Further analysis revealed that high-quality stories, supported and boosted by Medium, attracted significantly more visibility and engagement. So, the pattern became crystal clear.” — Illumination, “Illumination’s Mirror: Submission Guidelines 2023”.
In addition, any drafts that are not on the topic list will be removed from the submission list.
Our founder made it clear that we don’t publish clickbait headlines, plagerized content, or AI-generated content.
We want real stories from real writers. The struggle is real, and so are your experiences.
Does my story have to stay with the publication?
Feel free to remove your stories from New Writers Growth Ideas whenever you need and want to. We don’t penalize you for withdrawing your articles from being published in other publications. We want you to grow.
What happens when my draft is in review?
If your draft status is in review, it means it is in the queue or being currently reviewed. If there are issues with the draft, it will include a note on how to edit and re-submit. (I am still learning the editing abilities, so please bear with me.)
How can we get in contact with the editors?
You can respond to the notes from editors and also attach a private note to one of our articles.
I am available on me.dm and on Slack. (I am creating a Slack for our writers to join; I will announce it this week.)
You can also find me on social media sites and apps like X, Instagram, Threads, Facebook, MeWe, LinkedIn, and Pinterest. Just search my name.
If you have any questions, please don’t hesitate to send me a DM.
Happy Writing!
