New Wordle-Esque Game for Those That Love Trivia
Another great game to add to your daily repertoire
Wordle, the popular five-letter word guessing game has everyone swept up. Created by Josh Wardle for his wife (who loves word games) Wordle has since spawned a whole array of similar daily word-based games to keep people entertained.
As someone who writes you can assume I also am a fan of words and language. But, I’m also a lover of facts and trivia (I mean who doesn’t love a great pub quiz night?).
I hadn’t heard of this new fact-based Wordle-adjacent game until Alan Simpson mentioned it in the comments of one of my articles. I owe so many thanks to him for introducing me because this has quickly become one of my favourites (right up there with classic Wordle and Worldle).
What is this game, you ask?
Factle is a trivia-based game that follows similar rules to Wordle, giving you five guesses to correctly chose and order answers to various questions.

Some examples of questions that have been used in the past are: what are the five hardest Wordle words (by the average number of attempts), name the top five highest-earning Australian actors, and name the countries with the largest military budget. You are given a menu of a variety of answers — not all of them correct to choose from.
In similar to Wordle fashion your answers will show in yellow for those that are included in the top five but in the wrong order, and green for the correct answer in the correct order.
Factle is created by Garrett Scott an engineer and CEO from Pipedream labs with help from Canon Reeves, Drew Bellcock, and more of the Pipedream team among others. Obviously inspired by Josh Wardle’s Wordle, of course.
Garrett Scott explained Factle himself via this tweet.

Much like Wordle Factle allows players to share their daily scores using the signature blocked pattern however instead of yellow and green squares these spaces have been replaced by cat and frog emojis. A fun addition.
This quickly has become one of my favourite games to come out of the Wordle universe. Have you played Wordle? Ever tried Factle? Feel free to let me know if you have any favourite Wordle-based games. I’m always keen to try new ones — keep ’em coming.
