NEVER Plan For Defeat

You ALWAYS get what you plan for

I was chatting with someone today whose trying to obtain a manager position at their company.

They started complaining about someone who consistently seems to be trying to seize the same opportunity. Then they started chatting about how they’d feel if the person did get the job over them.

I told them, “Wow, you’re already planning and expecting defeat.” They paused, and it dawned on them. Immediately, they took a more proactive approach and started fine-tuning their processes, goals, and perspective, making themselves a more attractive candidate for the upcoming promotions soon to be available to the team.

Never plan and expect defeat, or you will get precisely that.
