Never Let This Bubble Burst
A poem about two lives intertwining amidst the chaos
Your silhouette basked effortlessly under the sun As we bathed within the day we met The beach let us sit in stillness Soaked through that magical moment
The one where we didn’t know what to say So we didn’t say anything And watched the waves overlap With our cold hands bundled together
Suddenly, my nerves blurted out too many words And I thought that would scare you away But you just thought it was cute And moved closer to me, without hesitation
My bubble I’ve learned to fortify Has already moved you in You merged with ease And were carried through whisps of peaceful breaths
My lifelong insecurities are learning to fear you Because they finally feel the competition From the warm glow emanating from you That could outrun any criminal
My lifted heart is unceasing I can feel it nestled in my throat Embracing words that had started gathering dust And a life I never thought I’d own
I wouldn’t try to dream of this Because I’d have to wake up And face the reality of a life Without you in it
Now in a world of uncertainty You remain constant I don’t want this bubble to land and burst So let’s just live together in the air.
