Never Give Up

Sometimes all she did was feel lost

Like there was no hope but only exhaust

She kept telling herself everything was going to be okay

But she kept finding herself astray

To her life had no purpose

She found herself becoming a different person

She tried to find her answers in the people close to her

Now memories are all that they were

Alone is all that she could know

Today was a different kind of low

As she closed her eyes one last time

She thought of all that had been of her prime

The thought of the sun warming her face

Had her feeling a little misplaced

Never did she think this day would come

As she took her last breath and thought of her mum

It was never her intention to hurt anyone

Her dark thoughts had already won

As her parents came to mind

She opened her eyes and realized that all she had been was blind

The people that love her she could not hurt

As her thoughts she tried to revert

She looked in the mirror and saw a girl

So desperate for love that she did not realize she was a pearl

As society made her feel this way

It did not mean she has to do as they say

She was far from their view of perfect

Their negative words had their effect

Giving up was something she no longer wanted to do

This was something she had to get herself through

Because no matter how bad today was

She knew it all had its cause

Whether it was good or bad

It was something she had to live through even though she was sad

As tears rolled down from her eyes

She was not ready to say her goodbyes

As the clock struck midnight

She smiled as today she would be her own knight

She was no longer going to give up

As she spits out the tablets in a cup

Life had more to offer than she had seen

She was ready to take on the world like the queen she now knew she always had been
