A solution to negative self-talking.

I was on the way with my friend who told me, are you reciting something? The weirdness I feel, the incompetence, and the shamelessness to accept that I was talking to myself. A weird thing happened to me. I told him it is just my habit and ask him another question to divert the event to more positive ones.

Every time I go outside, every time I am in a crowd, every time I am somewhere doing something, this negative self-talking, coming from the top of my body organ is what made my life miserable. I am helpless and it hurt me every time of the day.

Why you recognized a problem, you can solve it through different methods and taking different initiatives. The problem I had is very deep and you need to fight your own system to make it right for you.

As LaToya Gaines said:

“Usually negative self-talk is so automatic that it happens outside of conscious awareness,”

A correlation of my early childhood with negative self-talking:

I was born in a very remote part of a city. There was literally no one I could spend the time with. I was the only kid who goes through this way most of my early childhood goes like this. Only interacting with elders of the family. Full stop.

This event has had a lot of impact on my life. My brain created imaginary characters because there was no one I could play or talk to in my very early childhood. These imaginary characters I could talk to and sometimes they talk to me.

With time, these imaginary characters disappear as I start interacting with a lot of people and go outing and do something to be busy. But, the negative self-talking is still there.

Places where negative self-talking hurt you:

  • You see a girl, you think she is very attractive and I should talk to her. The person who dedicate you told you hundreds of reasons not to do it or why you are looking bad or why it isn’t the right time to do it.
  • A group of friends, singing, and dancing, you are setting in a place thinking about what should you do? or what if you start dancing? the system told you; you will look ugly or bad or they will laugh.
  • And so on…

How you can end negative self-talking?

There are many sciences backed ways to end self-negative talking. Remember, ending self-negative talking is a slow process and it might take you more time to control your negative self-talking.

  • This is something I have discovered personally and it helped me a lot. Whenever there is a negative voice telling you something negative, question it. When I was out there in the crowd, I was feeling like everyone is watching me, then I started questioning it and now I feel way better and more present at the moment. This process is actually verified by Gainers here.
  • Look at the glass as half-full instead of half-empty. Try to find the good in a situation. Focus on the positive side of the event instead of focusing on small negative things.
