“I am more myself in a garden than anywhere else on Earth.” — Doug Green

During our trip to Asia in November 2023, my family and I had the opportunity to visit Singapore, Thailand, and Malaysia.

Although it wasn’t on our original agenda, we ended up visiting the Singapore Botanic Gardens to meet up with my son’s classmate’s mom. She is a local from Singapore who graciously offered to show us around the gardens, where she enjoys taking her regular walks.

We were pleasantly surprised by this hidden gem, which truly lived up to its reputation as “A city in a garden.”

The gardens were so enchanting, compelling me to capture numerous images. I simply had to share them with my readers.

Situated right in the center of the city, the Botanic Gardens, recognized as a UNESCO World Heritage Site, showcase Singapore’s commitment to preserving its natural beauty.

The park features a vast expanse of greenery and a diverse range of plants. Although not bursting with flowers, the Orchid Garden is a marvelous place to immerse oneself in a floral extravaganza.

Without a doubt, the highlight of our visit was the Orchid Garden. It offered an incredible spectacle of colors and elegance, amidst Singapore’s humid weather. The sheer diversity of orchids on display was astonishing. We also appreciated the air-conditioned section of the garden which provided respite from the tropical heat.

We were amazed by the beautiful displays, well-kept gardens, and how everything flowed together so nicely.

If you’re planning a visit, come before 10 am or after 4 pm to avoid the midday heat.

The Gardens offer a serene escape for walkers, joggers, and families alike.
