Nature is magic,

And why do I say that?

Because I feel it.

Every time it rains, every time I go for a nature walk or go for a swim in the ocean;

I can feel a sense of bliss that I’d find nowhere else.

A feeling of belonging,

A sense of coming back home after years of wandering here and there.

I hear a voice in me whisper;

I am the trees I see in the forest,

I am the water in the ocean,

I am the animals I play with while walking through the forest,

I am also the dangerous creatures I am afraid of, that could be lurking inside the Jungle,

I am the wind, the rain, the thunder and the lightning.

It’s at these moments where I hear this voice in me the loudest,

I wonder if I could be the nature witch I read in stories, or a part of mother earth herself.

One day, I started to notice the life around me wither and die,

Losing the magic called life in it;

I looked at my feet and noticed the lifeless sand everywhere instead of the rich soil that once stood in its place.

At first, I just felt bad for nature before things started to take a turn for the worse,

That’s when I realized whatever was happening to nature, was happening to me as well.

That day I heard the voice in me speak again for the last time,

I am the trees I see in the forest,

I am the water in the ocean

I am the animals I play with while walking through the forest,

I am also the dangerous creatures I am afraid of that could be lurking inside the Jungle,

I am the wind, the rain, the thunder, and the lightning.

I wish each one of us could understand that if soil dies we die with it.

Let’s save soil before it’s too late!
