Nature Walk to a Tunnel

A poem

I took a morning walk. The air felt so sticky. My clothes clung to me And made me feel so icky. The bugs flew all around me And got up in my face. I tried not to be bothered Because I was in a peaceful place. It was only me and nature, Not another soul in sight Until I got through a tunnel That was dark as night. I then stood on the bridge. The scenery was like a dream. Down below, people fished In the rippling stream. I went back to my car After resting for a bit. As hot and muggy as it was, I’m glad I didn’t quit.
