Summary

The website content discusses the importance of learning to manage attachments and detachments in life through the healing power of nature, emphasizing the distinction between the soul's detachment and the body's attachments.

Abstract

The article titled "Nature Helps To Heal Attachments And Detachments In Our Lives" explores the concept of attachments and detachments as inherent aspects of life. It suggests that while attachments form naturally, even among independent individuals, the key to a peaceful existence lies in learning to deal with them effectively. The author illustrates this with a personal anecdote about a friend who spends significant time with her parents due to marital discord, questioning whether this indicates a shift in attachments. Drawing from a post by Darshak Rana, the article posits that our struggles and pain are illusions tied to the physical form, not the soul. It proposes that immersing oneself in nature can provide clarity and facilitate the process of detachment, allowing one to recognize that only the body, not the soul, is attached. The author shares their own method of walking and sitting in silence to release attachments, finding strength in spirituality to face obstacles without anger or jealousy. The article concludes by advising readers to love nature, approach problems with happiness, practice spirituality for inner strength, and enjoy life fully aware that material wealth is temporary and that the soul remains unaffected by physical attachments.

Attachments and detachments

Attachments and detachments are part of life. The most independent people also find after some time that attachments have happened in their lives and even if they try to detach themselves they are unable to do so.

One of my friends has been married for nine years and out of those nine years, she is so attached to her parents that she spends three to four months every year with them. The reason is that she often has problems with her husband about small issues.

Does this mean that she is detaching herself from her husband and attaching herself to her parents I kept thinking?

Then, this morning I read a post by Darshak Rana that said “Life is just like this story. Very quickly, we attach ourselves to life’s struggles, pain, and hardships; We keep on ruminating over the problem, thinking it’s ours. But it’s just an illusion. Everything is attached to the physical form, not to the soul”.

Nature is a big healer.

Life is full of entanglements. You are constantly trying to attach and then detach. It feels like you are a dice throwing yourself sometimes here and sometimes there not able to judge whether you are attaching or detaching yourself.

I have found a solution to this problem. Whenever I feel that attachment has overpowered me, I just go for a walk and sit in silence. I observe and I see. I rationalize and slowly wring off the attachment. I say only one thing and that is my soul is not attached why should my body be attached and then detach myself.

It is very hard to detach but I have insulated myself and I can detach. I remain cool. Most of the time even when big things bother people they do not bother me. I know my soul does not know the pain it is only my body. This is only possible when I am lost in nature and am silent and I am observing.

What are the learnings?

  • Love nature. It is a product of the universe. It does not need any attachment or detachments it stays there. The sun gives sunlight. The trees give shade. The moon and stars have a feeling of coolness. It gives to others. It does nothing for itself.
  • Solve your problems with happiness by considering them as challenges of attachment and resolve to remain happy no matter what happens. A smile on your face makes you calm and peaceful.
  • Spirituality teaches you to be strong and to face every obstacle. Attachment is an obstacle. Detachment will be easy only if you are practicing spirituality and do not have feelings of anger or jealousy towards others.
  • Enjoy life with full awareness. God has given us this life and if we have plenty in terms of material wealth consider them to be the bounty in this life. Enjoy it but remember it is a product of your physical needs only. As long as you remember and do good deeds of humanity in your life the attachments and detachments will not bother your life.

To conclude

Attachments and detachments are a passing game that is meant for this life.

Always be part of nature for healing. Enjoy the environment around you but with the full awareness that you are on this earth for a purpose.

Neither attachments nor detachments will affect you. You will be attached and may find it difficult and challenging to detach but as long as you are aware that your soul is safe and untouched physical attachments will not matter in life.

Life is a passing journey. Enjoy life but do not let it affect you. Be cool and calm and peaceful. To find healing surround yourself with the love of people and nature.
