Natural Skincare — The future for sensitive skin conditions!
From a small town New Zealand girl, to treating sensitive skin in the Netherlands
Kia ora koutou katoa!
I’m Kitti, a qualified skin and body consultant dedicated to working with sensitive and ethnic skins. This is an introduction of what to expect from my blogs, and my mission to bring effective, natural skincare for sensitive skin to Europe.
Where it all started
As someone who has struggled with Dermatitis and sensitive skin her whole life, a few things have become clear to me not just as a therapist, but as a client. To be truly effective for sensitive skin, skincare should focus on healing and reducing inflammation, not just hydrating and moisturizing.
I completed international diploma’s with CIBTAC and CIDESCO in 2012, with my award winning thesis dedicated to cancer patients who are suffering from side effects of their treatments before managing a small salon and treating wind and sun damaged skin in Wellington, New Zealand.
During my thesis research I found a few amazing courses available here in the Netherlands, and have been working with sensitive and ethnic skin types here for over 3 years, with my practice located in the center of Rotterdam.
NZ vs Europe in Solutions for Sensitive Skin;
To my surprise, my clients that suffer from Eczema, Dermatitis, Psoriasis and Rosacea in the Netherlands only had access to topical steroid based treatments, or natural products that could help with dryness but didn’t address the main problem.
In New Zealand we have had effective, natural products to treat skin conditions for more than 30 years that are steroid free, and we are getting pretty good at it!
These products not only improve the natural state of the skin, many kill bacteria, fungi and viruses, reduce inflammation, irritation and redness and they nourish and hydrate the skin. This in turn, reduces premature aging and damage of drier skin types.
It’s time to change how we manage sensitive skin in Europe!
