Oh yes, we knew it was coming, with the current covid numbers exceeding spring 2020. We were all just waiting for the prime minister to spell it out for us. It might have taken him another week or so but I believe the pressure from the teaching unions and opposition rolled the ball for him.

This time around even the kids were prepared for it. We all wanted to get back to work after the ‘Not so festive’ break.

The kids got up early in the morning like they would for a normal school day. All online devices were set. A quick breakfast and everyone was in their rooms.

To be honest, it made me a little sad about how the ‘new normal’ had become so normal for us.

As the weather was nice, we stepped out for a 20-minute bike ride.

On our way back the kids started arguing when the eldest one declared ‘let's not start it now we have to survive together 24/7 till the end of February’.

This put a smile on my face, I might now have gained much the whole year but my kids have certainly become smarter while handling the lockdown!
