My Wildflowers Tickle My Heart With Majestic Vivid Blossoms

My favorite thing in nature where I live, DEP prompt for week 30 of 52

Author’s photo of wild phlox in her backyard.

I have the best bedroom in my house. I get out of bed, raise the blinds, and look out my window first thing. My view faces east so I’m greeted by a lovely sunrise on a good day. If it is cloudy or rainy or snowing there is no visible sun. But at least I know what to expect weather-wise for the day.

There are many bird feeders clustered around a huge maple tree. A wide variety of birds entertain me with their antics. So many regular visitors make me very happy. Some birds come to my yard for the insects hiding under the maple bark. Songbirds fill my yard with delightful music.

My backyard is coming alive after a cold winter through April. It looks best in early spring when the wildflowers burst forth with glorious flowers to cheer me up. The first to greet me was the forsythia bush this year. Then my daffodils and tulips announced their presence.

Dutchman’s Breeches nestled amongst the maple tree roots shout hello.

The first wildflowers to appear are the blue and white ones. Next, come the yellows and pinks. I wish they would stick around longer and bless my yard all summer. Now you understand why the wildflowers are my favorite place in nature in my backyard.

Janin Lyndovsky took a walk in his neighborhood and was surprised to see the beauty of many flowers he hadn’t noticed before.

Mia Verita reminds us that comparing ourselves to others robs us of our own precious joy.
