My Unhealthy Relationship with Sugar
It’s time to let it go.

I love cookies. Like, I really love cookies. Especially those yummy, crispy, chocolate chip cookies in the green bag. That’s right, I’m talking about Tate’s. I can’t eat just one, and I hate myself for it!
Then there’s ice cream. Oh my gosh — have you seen that Magnum Ice Cream in a tub? It’s surrounded by a rich, chocolate shell. You’ve got to “squeeze” the jar to break it up, and then you’ll get shards of chocolate mixed in with the ice cream. Mm, so good!
And then there’s Starbucks. Oh, Starbucks. Part of my morning routine for a while was buying grande White Mochas and chocolate-dipped madelines…
And I’ll never forget all the candies I used to eat just to stay awake at work.
Ugh, how can something that tastes so good be so bad for me?
I gotta let it go.
My energy levels are in the crapper because I have to fight to keep my blood sugar stabilized. I try to quash my habit of eating sweets, only to go through withdrawal and pick it back up again.
Not anymore!
I’m gonna fight through the headaches, the cravings, and desire for that dopamine hit every time I eat a Tate’s chocolate chip cookie!
Listen up, Sugar!
I’m tired of you holding me back from productivity! I’m tired of having mood swings when I miss your sweet taste! No longer will I let you lure me back into your unhealthy arms with the promise of blissful decadence!
I’m leaving — for good this time!
Farewell, Sugar!
And good riddance.
