My Top 3 — Understanding Racism
My top 3 Medium stories I read today.
These days, I have read so many stories about racism. I wrote those myself too. So, what inspired me to read those stories?
Here is my top 3:
“Letter to a White Man”
In this story, Rhett McLaughlin writes what he can do to be a better man in reacting to racism. He wrote a letter to himself. It is important to have self acknowledge to know your actions towards one another.
“Black Parents Know About “The Talk”-White Parents, It’s Your Turn”
Ralinda Speaks talks about “The Talk” black people have with their children. White people don’t have that “The Talk”. She refers to what police officers could do when you walk through the streets. I never had such a talk with my parents and I never had a talk like that with my children. So, it made me think about doing this too, thinking at what age I can start with.
“Young, black… dead.”
This story — written by A Medic’s Musings — is about another day, another life when with people, who could be who and jobs they have. With what they ould be made death etc… It is a beautiful (story) poem. At least, it got to me.
