I published my first story on Medium on the 5th of April this year. From April to October, I reached the magic number of 1k followers. During this period, I volunteered to edit ILLUMINATION‘s integrated publications and I also created my publications Illumination’s Nutrition and The Pen and Prose

I am excited and happy about doing what I love to do. By supporting and following me you are boosting the self-esteem of a simple homemaker from India. I am also hoping to be self-reliant financially when the Medium Partner Program starts in India.

Let me spill the secret of Medium growth with you all from my personal experience.

Hold your breath!

It is very simple.

My three-step formula for growth 📈

The only way to grow in Medium is through engagement.

  • Engage with writers

Engage with writers by following and subscribing to them.

Read stories and post sincere comments.

This will get you more visibility as well as close connections in the community.

Read in different genres. You will find more than what you set out for. But remember, don’t just clap and run, engage.

  • Engage with readers

You can engage with your readers by sharing your stories through your blogs regularly.

Writing regularly is an act of engaging with your readers.

Your readers loves to get know about you. Keep sharing!

Always reply to comments. This is essential to strengthen the communication with your readers.

I always reply to the lovely responses of my readers.

Sometimes I don’t see the notification, that is the only time I don’t respond.

Try to follow as many publications as possible and engage and post your stories in different publications.

  • Be a volunteer.

You can grow only by supporting others to grow 🪴🪴🪴

Whenever you are ready, you can have your publication and support and grow other writers by sharing your experience as curators and editors.
