Why this technique works. And how to maximize its potential🤩

Today I read cool short story by Kristina God about her incredible results on Medium, her earning over 2,000 bucks, and 700 new followers in the month of February. Yeah, those results amaze me! How about you?

I’m not surprised Christina made it either. Why? First of all, I have paid attention to her activity and consistency in writing articles for a long time.

For the month of February, she wrote 60 articles! And many of them contain a real benefit for the readers. Note that 50 stories are only 150 to 250 words long, which is what is commonly known on Medium as a short form.

These short-form stories are almost never curated. But I’ll tell you now how you can use them to grow your regular readers' base!

So! We can’t write everyday stories with a lot of potentials. If a writer writes a long well-researched story every day and sees that many of them get no more than 50 views, it can lead to creative burnout.

That’s why I tend to think that most of us can write 10 long, very well-researched stories a month.

Moreover, we should try to choose very catchy titles for these 10 stories and the right topics. So that each of these stories was like candy! But what if you want to share your thoughts with other people, and you don’t have enough energy to write a high-quality long article?

That’s where the short form comes in to help us!

Advantages of the short form

1. It’s very easy to write it

2. It takes very little time to write it

3. Even some great Medium publications accept short forms

4. one story of 500 words (3 min. story is necessary to pass the curation) equals three stories of 160 words (1 minute) . A short-form increases the chance that more people will read it.

5. If your short story contains a maximum of useful information, it will be read to the end by almost all readers. A long story will be read by a good 50 percent of readers. So three short stories may get more reading time than one long story! yuhuuuu!🙀

6. In case one of your stories goes viral, many of your other stories will also get extra views. I wrote about why this happens in my previous article. I highly recommend reading it to the end to understand the algorithm!

7. Since most readers will read the short story to the end, you increase the likelihood that someone will want to sign up for your email newsletter or sign up for Medium using your referral link. There is one important condition for this! Even short stories must provide value to the reader to make them want to be notified of your new stories by email!
