My Thoughts on Covid-19 Crisis

A look at the final beneficiaries

For years we were being warned by people like Bill gate, Michael Osterholm and Robert G. Webster.

“Nature will eventually again challenge mankind with an equivalent of the 1918 influenza virus.”

In different words, they all tried to warn us about the same crisis telling us to prepare and pointing out the facts that we weren’t ready.

The virus was predicted to be highly fatal and contagious.

We did not care to prepare

We were warned, we need to prepare as we prepare for wars. we desperately required preparation, plans, and strategies.

The council’s director of medical and biodefense preparedness said in 2018:

“The threat of pandemic flu is the number one health security concern. Are we ready to respond? I fear the answer is no.”

Even after all these warnings, no steps were carried for preparation. The general public was left unaware. We had no plans to deal with the hoarders, to strengthen supply chains or to even ensure the basic supply of medical equipment like PPE kits.

COVID 19 was just thought to be a bad dream “It’s going to disappear. One day like a miracle, it will disappear,” These are the words of one of the former US president.

The undying denial

We humans don’t care for a crisis until it hits us. All the facts were in front of us like an open book but we kept denying it while thousands of people were dying in China and Italy we still thought it wasn’t going to affect us in the same way, politicians were thinking about developing herd immunity. Many of the world’s most leading states kept delaying preventative tactics and preparation till it was too late.

Were we truly so Naïve?

All this makes me wonder were our leaders really so naive or there was a bigger agenda, a hidden conspiracy, these days you don’t have to look far and you end up being a host of conspiracy theories about anything and everything.

I’m not one of those who easily fall for this but then going through this crisis looking at the inaction of our leaders and the mounting number of dead, I also started thinking about this more seriously. One of the first things that come to my mind is who would actually benefit more from this global crisis?

Who benefits from this crisis?

Vaccine producing companies

The most direct advantage will be for the companies producing vaccines and there have been a number of articles that talk about how aggressively the US was pursuing to keep the rights for any vaccine-related research anywhere in the world including Germany which appeared to be in lead on this.

The downside of this theory is that eventually there will be competition amongst so many of these companies and with such huge scrutiny around the subject, it will be difficult for anyone to come up with a scam of this scale.

International lending agencies

The second conspiracy theory which has got me more sceptical is about the role of international lending agencies such as IMF and the State Banks of the leading nation-states.

The capitalist economic model that we all follow globally relies on an ever-increasing growth of the economy for the interest-based model to work. We all know this is not possible in practice, so every few years we see one financial crisis or other, that apparently leads to wiping-off, of billions of dollars from the stock markets and bankruptcies. But then lo and behold these monetary agencies and state banks are rescued by the hard-working tax-payers because they are too precious to be allowed to fail and suddenly out of magic they again produce more money to lend; which is of course given as interest-based loans either to states or private organizations.

And the cycle continues with the only constant being these Central Banks and rest of us all in one form or other are minions for them, working hard to pay off their debts either directly or through the taxes imposed by our beloved governments.

When I recently read the news about the huge reserve fund which IMF has set aside to give loan to the various countries affected by pandemic it only served to strengthen this suspicion.

Other conspiracy theories and my belief

Again there are hundreds of other conspiracy theories ranging from those related to the 5G mobile network to the Chinese global ambition of dominance through bio-warfare but to be honest, deep inside I still want to trust and believe our governments and leaders who tell us that these are just conspiracy theories and we must Unite against all these to fight this invisible enemy rather than falling prey to these thoughts causing further chaos. But at the moment I can’t silence all these voices I’m hearing and I don’t know where the truth really lies.
