My Stats: They are Encouraging Me to Keep Writing & Keep Creating

Joining in with the amazing Illumination Team has made all the difference

This story is in response to Dr Mehmet Yildiz request that all of us at the Illumination publication on Medium should share our stats, how we are growing as writers and what we are learning.

I started out on medium in January 2019. That is about 1 year and 4 months. However, when I started out in January I was only publishing articles around 4–6 times a month. Now, I write nearly every day. I was not part of a publication at that time. I joined the amazing Illumination publication and team in March of 2020 this year. As this publication is very, very new I feel very honored to be a part of it.

The screenshot of my stats is from today- April 21st, 2020. I could see that my article views have even gone up since yesterday! I am so, so encouraged by this. I believe that re-becoming a writer (as I call it) is a long game. It is a marathon and not a sprint. I feel humbled and honored to be here. I am among long time writers and poets who have put their hearts and souls into writing for many years now. Some of them have published books and are writing more books. It is so, so inspiring!

My story stats as shown above are much better than last year when I was writing only 4–5 times a month. (screenshot below) I am so glad that now I have a daily writing habit and an amazing team to work with on Illumination!

I love to hear how everyone is doing here. It is not a competition. We are here on this team to help each other, to learn, to grow and to become more of ourselves in the process. I absolutely love to share the joy in someone else’s win! This is such a beautiful thing! I believe that everyone here is paving the way for everyone else. We are each an important, beautiful, gold brick in the path to growing as writers.

Each week I challenge myself to improve, to learn more, to do something different, to explore new topics. I also love how we are cross-pollinating here by sharing writing prompts, curating each other’s articles to share and sharing articles on social media and our networks. Every day I seek to spread light to others, to share what’s in my heart and to learn what I can write that will make someone smile that day. That is one of my jobs right now, to be a light in the darkness and I do that through writing, through being present in this world.

I feel so very fortunate to have this opportunity right now. I am able to write every day, to work on my business every day and to take time to care for my home and my family. I am finding more joy and more balance every day which I am so thankful for.

My stats are telling me to keep going, to keeping shining, to keep making a difference wherever I can. I may not be the best at picking them apart of analyzing them with any sort of method, but I know that I will keep growing with all of you.

What have your stats told you today? I would love to hear from fellow writers: (if you haven’t shared with us already) KeepingItRealWithAnnick, Terry Mansfield, Simona and more! I encourage you to keep writing and keep sharing your stories with us!

With lots of love and light,

Trista
