All that we see or seem, is but a dream within a dream.— Edgar Allan Poe

I’ve met him last night in an unfamiliar place. I’m feeling overjoyed seeing him again. I was drowning in his warm embrace;

Can’t forget how he smelled, But it was a heavenly feeling. At other times, I was in their abode exchanging stories with his kin,

Who simply asked where I am bound for, Quickly I answered, I’m going to watch a stage show. Alas! In a flash, he and I are seated in a row!

Oftentimes, I’d feel a deep longing to be with him, Or just to hold him close. Yet in my dream, he is leaving for a faraway cause.

I looked for him and kept running after him, But everywhere and anywhere I go, I couldn’t find him.

Vividly I can remember, Each time he appears in my dream, ‘Twas the face, I’ve last seen of him; That was the time when we were younger, free to be with each other.

Always I do wonder What do these dream segments mean unexpected twists? Or surprises for me to ponder?

Showing what I deeply feel for him, Hungry for that deep, sweet, aching feeling.

Night and day, They keep on coming, Now and then, Then and now, Or am I still hoping?
