Do not stone me, but I recently watched Lucy for the first time and intend to watch it again.
I was amazed to see the depiction of what it could look like if humans engaged incremental percentages of their brain.
I am aware that having faith the size of a mustard seed can move a mountain, but I have not seen that with my eyes yet.
However, I have a small personal experience. So, I know the concept shown in Lucy is not far-fetched.
It is real.
I remember being a little girl and communicating with my mom by calling her name (“mom”) in my mind.
There was no hesitation nor doubt in my mind that this would not work. I simply acted as if I already knew that it was possible, and it was.
My mother, who was in another room of our home at the time, eventually came into the living room where I was. I asked her, "Did you hear me calling you?” She responded, yes.
I was so excited! I told her that I called her by thinking it in my mind!
I do not recall her response, but I do remember that she did not call me crazy and she did not name me a liar. This was not the last and final occurrence of something “abnormal.”
I remember this clearly enough, and I am thankful for the memory. It is a reminder that anything is possible and there is more that we as humans are capable of when we learn to let go of the obstacles that we perceive are real, embracing the limitless possibilities that are beyond what our eyes can see.
Some of the early developments of a child’s mind are stultified by caregivers and teachers, who may not be aware of their transference of limiting beliefs. Others are graced with the cultivated environment to spread their wings early, testing boundaries (with healthy support).
As developing beings, we have learned methods and behaviors that are intended to keep us safe from perceived danger, even if that means jumping out of the matrix, sharing our thoughts, or trying something different.
I am thankful to Luc Besson for this brilliant depiction and script of what is and what could be.
Anything is possible.
