Trying To Do My Best…

Trying to do my best — © d’Viggo

The Proust Questionnaire Answered by d’Viggo

What is your idea of perfect happiness?

Looking at the world feeling a cool breeze after climbing to a mountain top, before you start tuning your instrument and perform the perfect song. Then climb down again watching the smile on the faces of your bandmates — even on the crew who was hired to carry or setup the equipment or dragged the power supply cable — and none of them “claimed to be there people” present unless they were bandmates.

What is your greatest fear?

I don’t like being an innocent part of this war on terror and the other wars, started by those people who can — hide behind body guards and panzer steel or meter thick concrete walls — or send predators and flying swords to kill those who try to solve the problem they constructed in a different way.

What is the trait you most deplore in yourself?

My temper against how politicians and bureaucrats lie — to protect themselves and their greedy wealthy friends — and overlooking the fact that they are there to help any person who asked for help or need information.

Which living person do you most admire?

I have never been an admirer. I admire those who have risked their lives by singing in the streets to make the world a better place — and those refugees who manage to get away from the wars and try to start a new life.

What do you consider the most overrated virtue?

Being wealthy, a celebrity or those who promote their status believing they are better persons than others.

On what occasion do you lie?

I’m not used to… Maybe a white lie to calm some kids on sugar speed.

Which words or phrases do you most overuse?

I am not talking that much when being quarantined. I am more worried how other — especially the media people— define everything they do or what happens is amazing or fantastic. It is not.

What or who is the greatest love of your life?

All those moments when playing my guitars and with the women I met.

When and where were you happiest?

Maybe when my only ex-wife gave birth to our son. A couple of days ago when 75 million people celebrated Joe & Kamala.

But honestly I would be more happy if people start reading my pinned head story — about how easy it is to reverse the global warming by introducing a new day on the calendar — and if our politicians took action and implemented these small changes with such positive impact on our planet. Read it, spread the news and take action. This is why I started writing here, and my free gift on how to save the only world we have, our blue planet Tellus.

Which talent would you most like to have?

A talent for knowing how to take better care of my own body when I was young and fearless — and used to work almost every day and fortnights of nightshifts or more in a row— and how this make your body go on nightshift for decades and still do.

If you could change one thing about yourself, what would it be?

Learn to be more patient though people say: You are always so calm. But that is on the outside. Performing Taijiquan daily helps.

What do you consider your greatest achievement?

I felt that I have achieved something when I received my patent diploma more than 40 years ago. Those expenses never made me rich and kind of never inspired me to try for more.

I’m still able to see the consequences of bad leadership, and still knowing how easy it is to make the world a better place to live for everyone.

Where would you most like to live?

I live in a wealthy part of Europe, but I love to try living in China and seek perfection in Taijiquan. Humans have learned a lot from Chinese culture for centuries. Why should we stop now?

People living in China are not allowed to walk around on the streets with guns in their hands or pockets. They are trying out a system how to reward citizens who are following the rules.

We have seen lately how it works when leaders don’t follow the rules. Why do these leaders think people will do it, when they don’t?

What do you most value in your friends?

I have not seen them for a while. Their ability to look at different sides of their lives and laugh a lot, and their musical or artistic skills.

Which historical figure do you most identify with?

I don’t identify myself with either present or historical figures. I am a human living in the now. I have learned how to think my own way by analyzing things in different ways than the mainstream — at the same time trying to take the very best care of our planet and its habitants.

Who are your heroes in real life?

Those who fight against injustice. Especially those who dare to face the over-weaponized police forces in the streets, when they know the risk of being beaten into a wheel chair or a body bag is present.

What is your greatest regret?

I did not learn how to play the accordion — because it wasn’t hip enough— when I was a teenager. I think the accordion in Cajun or odd beat Bulgarian music is very sexy, but also in the blues like a big harmonica.

What is your motto?

Do Taijiquan every day. Make the best out of every situation — be who you are — make fun and laugh a lot— take good care and always give good care until it sounds good.
