My Newsbreak Earnings Are 5X More This Month

You multiple yours too.

Photo by Mindfulness Com on Unsplash

Earlier this month, I achieved a milestone on Newsbreak. Now, my hopes are up for the rest of this 30-day period. I made 5X times as much as I did the last one.

The good thing about low-income figures? If you earn more the next month, the figure looks super good.

All my other stories had died, much like my enthusiasm to write on the platform. So, those old posts made nothing. And my new articles did not even half the 1,000 view mark to count for anything.

But there is a silver lining. I learned tricks for the new algorithm and went viral. And that one story led to earnings 5X more than last month. Here is the story inside it are the tips used:

Now, I have a few new tricks up my shelves. I learned them by observing other writers on the platform. And you can too!

With Special Mention…

I can’t go without saying this — Matt Lilywhite is back on Newsbreak.

It got me thinking about the reasons people said he left.

It might not have been for money.

If you get a strike against your profile, it goes away after 90 days of good behavior. Lilywhite has been missing for around that many days.

So, it might not always be about money.

But coming back is a good choice — because every dollar counts in these times.

This point brings me to my first tip.

Be Careful

So, he may (or may not) have been gone because of a strike.

But strikes are dangerous on Newsbreak. Try to avoid them at all costs.

Disclaimers are your saving grace on the site.

So, use them. I have seen many writers using them. For example:

If you do not use disclaimers, stick only to the facts. And embed links to your sources of information. But what if “I want to post opinion pieces”?

You can, by declaring it is your opinion. Here’s how:

If you don’t say it is your opinion, you may not get a strike. But the story may not get published either. Why? Because you will get “editor’s feedback” saying biased point of view.

You can choose to use disclaimers or not.

I’d say use them if you give advice. Or if you give advice and your bio does not state any title to imply you have authority to tell people what to do with their lives. Better safe than waiting 90 days, am I right?

Stop Stories from Dying

News stories die. It is timely once and relevant for about 24 to 72 hours. So you make the most of your viable time by using a few proven ways to virality:

Next, you try to recapture your former glory. I noticed writers using backlinks to their older stories. There are two ways I see writer’s doing this. How you can do it as well:

  • (Less obvious): Embed the link in a few of the stories’ words
  • (More obvious): Shown twice below…

I hope this helps you along your journey.

Thank you for reading!
