My New Years Prayer

Your love will make a difference in 2022

As we move into 2022 let us pray for one another.

Our world is in a state of turmoil. So many people are hurting. Natural disasters, hunger, racial injustice, and religious intolerance abounds.

I pray that as we move into 2022 that we all remember that we are all one. We are all made of the same stuff. The barriers that we have erected between each other can be brought down. They are man made to begin with.

The way the walls come down is by listening. Listening to our brothers and sisters who are crying out for justice, for a better way of life, or to just be able to take another breath.

When we hear the pain, we can understand that this pain is ours. We are all of the human condition, subject to the pitfalls, disasters, sickness, food insecurity, and fear that everyone is exposed to.

We are all subject to these things.

And we are not all subject to these things equally. There are those who are treated with disdain or hatred because of how they look and who they worship.

I pray that as we move into 2022 that we begin to see others who are struggling with an extra measure of compassion. Maybe this year will be the year the human race remembers that we all belong to each other.

Maybe we will treat the planet as our home.

Maybe we can treat all races as equals.

Maybe we can learn to keep each other healthy.

Maybe we can take the pain and transform it into a learning experience.

Imagine if we took all of what we learned in 2021, and used it to better ourselves and the world around us.

I pray that I do my part. I need to. I am one with you. I affect you. I hurt like you. I cry like you. I rejoice like you. I need love just like everyone else. I need a healing just like we all do. I am you. You are me.

At this moment in history if you do nothing else please pray.

And of course prayer is not enough. Let me also take loving action towards making our world a better place.

Thank you for your love.

Thank you for your commitment to kindness.

Thank you for being the radiant light of hope that you are.

The world needs you.

Thank you!

Happy New Year!
