My New Favorite Workout— Barre

Sometimes a workout is all the therapy you need.

A few months back, I was looking for cardio and dance workouts on YouTube and discovered “Barre”. I didn’t know much about it by that time but started adding a couple of Barre workouts in my weekly fitness routine just to have a little fun.

In a few weeks time, it become my favorite workout.

When SWEAT launched the new Barre Program on their app, I couldn’t contain my excitement. I am a member Of SWEAT Community and use their app workout programs. You can choose Sweat programs for the gym or to get fit at home.

Barre, a ballet-based dance workout (named after the barre ballet dancers use). This type of workout uses movements inspired by dance, Pilates, and yoga to work your muscles — particularly lower-body muscles, outer glutes, calves and ankle muscles and challenge your cardiovascular endurance.

You can use high chair or wall support in this workout to hone your balance and create proper alignment in your body and posture. This is completely optional and need for advance training.

Barre offers an effective total body workout focused on low-impact/high-intensity movements that improve strength and flexibility in your body. It can be added with strength training, high intensity interval training (HIIT) or mix with cardio workouts.

I love how it challenges you to balance your complete body while also targeting your core and glute muscles.

I’m all about hitting multiple muscle groups at a time and often add full body movement workouts, so this is a great one for me where I can focus on my complete body.

If you’re new to Barre, you may think you need to be a dancer to smash these workouts, but that is definitely not the case.( I am not a dancer in anyway — in case you’re wondering!).

If you are new to workouts or already in your fitness journey, Barre a great workout to add in your training plan.

But with so many options and limitless information available, it’s easy to get overwhelmed with what to choose. But not to worry. I’ve got you covered!

Below are my favorite Barre YouTube Channels (And it’s FREE!) I discovered during Barre research. Check them out and I am sure you are not going to regret it.

30-Minute Full-Body Barre Workout With Britany Williams

If you are a member of SWEAT app, you can select her work outs through this app. If not, don’t worry, check out below YOUTUBE channel.

Britany has a 30 days series on Barre and you can add in your routine as per your convenience.

There are lots of pulses — micro-movements that improve endurance and help you resist fatigue, stabilize your body, and move with proper posture — in this video.

Be prepared to sweat through this workout.

You can either use with 1-2lbs dumbbells or just skip it. You will still feel all the burn you need.

This workout will test your cardio, build core strength, and work your entire body.

I recommend this for someone who likes a more athletic barre workout or someone who likes a challenge.

11-Minute Full-Body Barre Combos With “Barre With Adrienne”

If you are short in time and still need to finish your workouts, check out this YOUTUBE channel. You can even mix with your regular workouts.

There is little to no jumping, and you can follow the modifier and still get in a killer workout.

You can add this workout in your warm up sessions or combines with other workout series to feel the maximum burn.

Again dumbbells are completely optional and not going to affect the movements.

Amy’s workouts has varieties of workouts and most of them are equipment free or completely optional.

There are options for all fitness levels, from beginner to advanced.

Biggest advantage I find with Amy’s workouts is you can do them anywhere even during your vacation.

Barre can help you to tone every inch of your body.

Combine them into a routine for a workout that’s simple but powerful and sure to keep you in shape for the rest of your life.

Many of the things we do for fun and work count as exercise. This is one of them where you enjoy while burning calories.

I absolutely enjoy my weekly Barre workout and I hope you too also going to have some fun while moving your body.
