My New Canvas
I decided natural is my new normal since the pandemic changed my beauty routine.

Let foundation go.
Freedom found in being me.
Natural canvas.
It was a hard to decision to post this picture of myself wearing no foundation. The huge port-wine stain birthmark on my lower left cheek is visible if you look close enough.
The pandemic helped me to not care if anyone saw this birthmark. The pandemic helped me to stop wearing false lashes. I also stopped getting my brows done. I made the decision to make natural my new normal.
This is my 54-year old face without major enhancements. A little lipstick and eyeliner make up my beauty routine now. Also, every profile pic I had before never showcased my ebony. I felt disingenuous for writing about it and my name being Cocoa Griot, but I did not show my brown to the world.
If this look bothers you, I am not sorry. This is plain old me and I don’t regret sharing my natural self with the world. Makeup can change a woman’s look drastically. Please check out this video as proof of that fact. This young lady transforms herself into famous celebrities to show the power of makeup!
