My Neighbor’s Cat
a poem

my neighbor’s cat wants to kill me I’m sure
every day she sneaks up every day she stares
unblinking watching me plotting and planning thinking of ways to dispose of me
I think she thinks my garden is hers
I think she thinks many things about me none good
every day she sits in my garden watching while I work watching while I eat
sometimes she’ll sit at my screen door looking in and scaring the life out of me when I walk by
last night in my bedroom getting ready for bed I looked out the window there she was staring back
so I did what anyone would do at the grocery store suddenly I found myself in the pet aisle
buying tuna treats
getting treats for a cat that is not mine cat sorcery it exists I know I’m a victim
now I leave out treats and a bowl of water every day
she snacks away while I hide indoors hoping we can be friends
so reader if I go missing if you don’t hear from me
please question the one and only suspect my neighbor’s cat

Thank you for reading!
