My Muse is a Goddess
Sweet but irreverent

My poetess visits daily, often coming to me in dreams in the middle of the night when I can’t fall asleep, or when I drive past towns with peace signs and good omens.
Her voice is resonant like Mama Cass, or as howling as a feral cat. She is a kindly muse, a bit on the wild side, who compels me to scratch and claw, until I finish my thought.
She is a dreamy reverie, a welcome creative, whose free-spirited song drives my iambic pentameter.
Write me a full-figured one, she says, one with poetic defiance, verse with a romantic bent, but far-fetched and irreverent.
My goddess guides my poetry, whispers ideas that inspire, encourages me to dance with the angels, and break bread with the devil.
