Abstract

rson, my mum leads with kindness. She has lived her life with such amazing energy and grace. I’m especially inspired by her genuine desire to inspire and support less fortunate children. Remind Loved Ones How They Inspire You

My mum is my greatest inspiration. It sounds cliche, cheesy, and probably like I’m idolising her

And I may idolise her to some extent. But overall, I’m genuine in my statement that my mum is my greatest inspiration.

Apart from being my mum, which makes me biased, I wholeheartedly think she is an amazing woman and someone I am proud to look up to and grow alongside.

There are several reasons I consider my mum to be an inspiration. I want to share four:

  • She shows me how important perseverance is—my mum has consistently shown me and those around her that when you want something, perseverance is key. She actively demonstrates that the only person who can get in your way is you! My mum has overcome so much in her life and has accomplished so much that she can be proud of. Nothing was handed to her on a plate; she dedicated herself to the things she wanted and didn’t stop until she achieved them.
  • She shows up, despite her hardships — I’m not here to share her life story, but I will share that it wasn’t easy. Instead of carrying resentment and being an unpleasant person, my mum leads with kindness. She has lived her life with such amazing energy and grace. I’m especially inspired by her genuine desire to inspire and support less fortunate children. Most recently, my mum has been learning to show up for herself, which allows me to see the importance of self-love to truly live your best life.
  • She embraces life — Whether it be getting her motorbike licence and backpacking at age 56, starting her own business at 25 or learning English as a second language at 18 being deaf, my mum has embraced each step of her life. She’s shown me that it’s not always easy, but it always works out. Her ability to continue thriving through life has shown me that everything in our life teaches us something, and somehow prepares us for our next chapter.
  • She isn’t afraid to ask for help — I love that my mum is confident enough in herself to ask her help when she needs it. I believe that the ability to ask for help speaks volumes about a person. We can’t know everything, and we aren’t always going to get it right, her vulnerability has been a learning lesson for me and for that I am grateful.

My mum is not perfect. But, nobody is perfect. I love her for everything that she is. Why do we insist on looking for perfection? Why do we focus on the bad instead of shouting about the good from the rooftops?

I’m here to share why my mum rocks, focusing solely on the amazingness she has to share with us all. She’s inspired me to be the person I am today. She’s given me the confidence to believe in myself and to chase my dreams around the world.

I challenge you to focus on the good in the people you love and remind them why they inspire you. Even the strongest people need reminding.

Shine bright.

If you like my writing and feel inclined to support my journey, you can help me shine brighter by buying me a coffee. Your kindness means a lot! Thank you so much for your support.
