Let me tell you about the wonderful trip my husband and I took to Hawaii for our 10th wedding anniversary. We started our journey from Singapore on a Friday, flying with Malaysian Airlines and stopping briefly in Kuala Lumpur. When we arrived in Waikiki, Hawaii, it was still Friday morning. We were excited! We have 5 days to explore.

Waikiki Beach was amazing! The sand was soft, and the water was clear and blue. There were lots of restaurants along the beach where we could eat while watching people having fun in the waves.

Some people were surfing, and others were just relaxing in the sun. Some were even sunbathing topless, showing off their fit bodies. Seeing all these people enjoying themselves made me happy and inspired me to stay healthy too.

As dusk descended, locals began setting up their musical instruments, forming a band accompanied by two dancers, a man and a woman. Despite the evening setting in, Waikiki Beach remained vibrant, with people scattered across the sand, soaking in the soothing sounds of the waves crashing onto the shore.

After dinner, my husband and I joined the locals in unwinding on the beach. What set Waikiki apart from beaches in Asia was the absence of constant solicitations. While I don’t mind the occasional offer, it can become overwhelming when vendors persistently approach. This relentless sales pitch detracts from the relaxation experience. However, on Waikiki Beach, I couldn’t recall anyone trying to sell us anything.

A standout feature of our experience at Waikiki Beach was its cleanliness. In contrast to numerous other beaches tainted by plastic bottles and debris, Waikiki remained untouched. Only the imprints of footprints on the soft sand were visible, showcasing the dedication to preserving its natural allure.
