My Mistake and Misunderstanding on Medium Left Me Feeling Embarrassed

I am new to Medium, but I’m trying my best. I write articles and spend double the time supporting others on this platform.

However, I felt disappointed when I realized I was making mistakes. After reading articles written by others, I learned what I was doing wrong.

Mistake #1

I feel embarrassed and stupid when I think about how much I didn’t know about Medium.

I signed up for Medium in October, hoping to share my thoughts and connect with interesting people.

However, I soon realized that I misunderstood how the platform worked. I believed I could be eligible for partner program earnings after writing for six months.

As a result, I only wrote a couple of blogs, thinking I could only make money after six months. Unfortunately, I was wrong.

On December 7th, I read an article by a random writer on Medium sharing information about how much he earned on Medium after writing the first month.

Knowing I had been writing articles without enabling partner program earnings, I felt terrible. I immediately signed up for a partner program and began earning money from my writing, which happened on December 7th.

As you can see, I am pretty new here. My second mistake is bothering me the most.

Mistake #2

I found out today about the second mistake after I read the article from Henery X

Henery X explained how to succeed on this platform as an entrepreneur, and emphasized the importance of receiving 50 claps.

I couldn’t understand the 50 claps he mentioned in the article, so I tried giving him 50 claps to see if it worked.

Surprisingly, it was working!!!

I was thinking in my mind.

“I am giving just one clap to every article.”

"I began to ask myself."

"Can I give more claps? What?"

Oh, my goodness. I started feeling so bad for the situation with Sam today in the morning when I proudly clapped to Sam writes 🌸 article; he responded to my comment:

“Yes, they are … but only 2 claps 😭😭”

After his comment, I still didn’t get that. Now I know that I can show support for the article by giving it 50 claps.

I thought I was supporting everyone by giving one clap to everyone I supported.

I feel embarrassed, and I apologize to all of you because you deserve many more claps, like just one.

I am so happy that I know now how I can better support everyone.

Is it just me, or has anyone else had these experiences? What if more people aren't aware that they can clap 50 times?
